Our Priority: Humanitarian Assistance and Recovery
American Jesuits International promotes solidarity with the people affected by disasters, prioritizing response, recovery, and resilience amongst impacted marginalized communities through economic support from the United States to affected Jesuit works and/or provinces abroad in times of natural disasters and/or humanitarian emergencies.
This work is done in conjunction with other members of the Xavier Network to ensure a consolidated and global response from the Society of Jesus.
Types of programs and projects we support include:
- Rapid Humanitarian Response – provision of food, water, hygiene, medicine and/or temporal shelter.
- Replacement of Losses – Inputs/resources to families and communities impacted by a natural disaster or humanitarian crisis.
- Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience
