In Solidarity with Affected Communities

Humanitarian Assistance and Recovery

We foster solidarity that provides humanitarian assistance and resources to facilitate the recovery, restoration, & resilience of communities affected by disasters.

Our Priority: Humanitarian Assistance and Recovery

American Jesuits International promotes solidarity with the people affected by disasters, prioritizing response, recovery, and resilience amongst impacted marginalized communities through economic support from the United States to affected Jesuit works and/or provinces abroad in times of natural disasters and/or humanitarian emergencies.

This work is done in conjunction with other members of the Xavier Network to ensure a consolidated and global response from the Society of Jesus.

Types of programs and projects we support include:

  • Rapid Humanitarian Response – provision of food, water, hygiene, medicine and/or temporal shelter.
  • Replacement of Losses – Inputs/resources to families and communities impacted by a natural disaster or humanitarian crisis.
  • Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience

With your support, we connect Jesuit schools, social centers, health clinics, and more with the resources, tools, and experience they need to continue providing vital services to their communities.

When emergencies happen, work with our partners to provide humanitarian and emergency assistance to those in need and help communities recover. Here are just a few examples:
