Prayer Intentions for Fe y Alegría

American Jesuits International, previously Magis Americas, is working with a community of friends in Miami to share the important work of Fe y Alegría and fundraise on their behalf. Fe y Alegría is an essential strategic partner of American Jesuits International. Our commitment to supporting their growth and success starts as early as 2005 during the earliest formulations of our organization. Friends of Fe y Alegría in Miami is a clear example of this historic and valued relationship with Fe y Alegría.

For many years, this group of friends has organized galas, golf tournaments, and many other activities in support of Fe y Alegría. However, the event with the greatest reach and visibility is, without a doubt, an annual Miami Marlins baseball game. For the past three years, a portion of the tickets for the Venezuelan Heritage Night at LoanDepot Park have been donated to Fe y Alegría Venezuela thanks to hard work of Friends of Fe y Alegría in Miami.

The community of Friends of Fe y Alegría in Miami gathered in solidarity and prayer on Wednesday, July 24th for a Mass of Thanksgiving at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. We invite you to share in this moment by praying with us the Mass intentions written by Dani Villanueva, S.J., General Coordinator of the International Federation of Fe y Alegría. In these challenging times, our collective prayers can bring comfort and hope to many. Confident in our belief that God hears us and united in spirit and faith, we lift up our intentions together.

  • We pray for the children of Fe y Alegría. That they may always find safe spaces where they can develop as individuals, surrounded by love and understanding, and receive a comprehensive education that allows them to unfold their full potential becoming agents of change in their communities. May they never lack the opportunities to dream and achieve their goals.
  • We pray for all Fe y Alegría educators. That, inspired by their vocation of service and love for teaching, may continue to dedicate themselves to the formation of new generations. May they always find the necessary support for their complex work, and may their efforts and dedication be recognized and valued. May the Holy Spirit strengthen them in times of difficulty and fill them with joy and satisfaction in their educational mission.
  • We pray for the national and international teams, together with all those responsible for leadership in Fe y Alegría. That they may always be guided by wisdom and justice in their decisions and actions. May their work promote quality and equitable education for all, especially for those in vulnerable situations. May their efforts be a beacon of hope and an example of commitment to social justice and human dignity.
  • We pray for all benefactors of Fe y Alegría, who generously contribute to the educational mission. That they may be abundantly blessed and that their solidarity and commitment always be an example of generosity and love for one’s neighbor. May their lives be filled with blessings and may they find in their support of Fe y Alegría a source of satisfaction and joy, knowing that they are contributing to the construction of a better world.
  • We pray for all friends of Fe y Alegría, especially the friends in Miami, who from their different contexts, jobs and families support and encourage our mission. That they may find in their dedication and commitment the gratification of being part of a great work of love and justice. May your support, although often silent, always be valued and appreciated. May God fill them with blessings and strengthen their hearts to continue being an active part of this transforming mission.
  • We pray for national governments around the world. That they find ways to increase their commitment to the right to education, ensuring that quality education reaches all corners of their countries, in alliance with Fe y Alegría and other educational actors. That they work diligently and with commitment to eliminate the barriers that impede access to a dignified and quality education. May their educational policies be inclusive and equitable, reflecting a true commitment to the well-being and future of all children, no matter how remote or vulnerable their communities may be.
  • We pray especially for those 250 million children in the world who do not yet have access to education to find a light of hope in humanity. That nations and their leaders will increasingly strive to develop policies and allocate the necessary resources to ensure that all children have access to quality education. May our societies recognize the importance of education as a fundamental right and a powerful tool to eradicate poverty and build a better future for all.

We are grateful for the ways that our community supports the work of Fe y Alegría through prayer intentions like these and sharing our work with others. To continue praying and access other spiritual resources, we invite you to explore our prayer page!
