What is American Jesuits International?
American Jesuits International is a Washington, D.C.-based 501(c)(3) and the international solidarity organization of the Society of Jesus (The Jesuits) in the United States. Inspired by Ignatian spirituality, we support Jesuit education and development initiatives in marginalized communities to build just and equitable societies in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Is this donation tax deductible?
Yes! American Jesuits International, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record. We’ll send it to you upon successful completion of your donation.
How can I donate to American Jesuits International?
American Jesuits International accepts one-time and monthly recurring gifts online, over the phone, and by mail. To give by mail, please send your check or money order to: American Jesuits International 1726 New Hampshire Ave NW, Washington, DC 20009. Can I set up a recurring monthly donation?
Yes. American Jesuits International donation platform offers a Give Monthly option alongside one-time giving, so donors can choose either when they give. Just click on the link and choose “Monthly” at the top of the form.
What are other ways I can give?
American Jesuits International can receive gifts in the form of stock or securities, donor-advised fund (DAF) grants, and IRA distributions or bequests and even vehicle donations. There are many ways you can support our work and we are happy to help you with any of the details. Can I donate stock, a vehicle, or through a donor-advised fund?
Yes to all three. American Jesuits International accepts gifts of stock or securities directly as a tax-smart way to give, accepts vehicle donations at no cost to the donor through its partnership with CARS (careasy.org), and accepts donor-advised fund grants made out to American Jesuits International.
Can I give through an IRA, or leave a planned or legacy gift?
Yes. Donors age 70½ and older can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from an IRA of up to $100,000 a year, and American Jesuits International also accepts bequests and other planned or legacy gifts. We recommend donors consult their own tax planner or financial advisor before making an IRA-based gift.
Does my employer match donations to American Jesuits International?
Many employers do. American Jesuits International is registered on the Benevity workplace-giving platform, which donors can use to check their employer’s matching policy and submit a match request.
Can I choose which program or initiative my donation supports?
Yes. Donors who want to direct a gift to a specific initiative can contact our development team at development@weareaji.org or 301-246-2034.
