We are working toward meaningful changes on three levels where our partners operate: the international network level, the national “social center” level, and the grass roots producer organization level. Inspired by this vision of scalable impact, we invite you to commit yourself to one of three giving levels. Each month, your donation will connect you to our ongoing work and sustain meaningful work throughout Latin America.
Our Approach in Latin America
Network based, jesuit rooted, learning and action.
American Jesuits International believes that lasting change is built from the ground up. We trust our partners. They know their contexts best, and given the right tools and resources, they are best positioned to develop responses that work. That’s why American Jesuits International channels support through a network of Jesuit social centers with deep roots in their communities — organizations that have been present for decades and will remain long after any single project ends.
Our strategic partner in this work is the Comparte Network, an initiative that responds to the complex reality of social exclusion experienced by many communities in Latin America which is amplified by global climate change. Through Comparte, American Jesuits International helps communities share lessons learned, strengthen local production, and care for one another and our common home, allowing people to stay in their local communities and still achieve “el Buen vivir” or the “good life.”
The people at the heart of this work are indigenous and Afro-descendant peoples, as well as individuals from marginalized urban areas. They come together in a wide range of organizations that manage economic and productive initiatives across different value chains: agricultural, livestock, diversified agro-industrial, services, and manufactured products.
Your donation supports a wide range of Comparte network partners throughout Latin America.
Through American Jesuits International, your gift reaches a wide network of Jesuit social centers across Latin America; organizations with long-standing traditions of accompanying excluded communities.
Together, these partners support over 50,000 families (79% rural, 21% urban or semi-urban) through producer organizations working across diverse economic and agricultural value chains.
