Solidarity is not something we practice only in moments of crisis. It is the thread that runs through everything we support: girls’ education and violence prevention in Nicaragua, relief and recovery in Venezuela, livelihood support in Cuba, and so many more places where our Jesuit partners walk alongside those on the margins.

Turned Toward the Poor and Suffering.

Feast of St. Ignatius 2026

Global Solidarity, Local Action

Motivated by our Ignatian values, we stand in solidarity with the works and initiatives of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) which are responding to the challenges faced by communities in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. We collaborate with local Jesuit organizations by providing financial support and project resources to help them expand their capacity to address the challenges their communities are facing.

With support from generous individuals and organizations in the United States, we are responding to the Jesuit’s call “to go anywhere across the geographical and cultural frontiers where there is need of working with Christ.”

Emergency response: Earthquakes in Venezuela

Our work in action

North-central Venezuela.
In Venezuela, Jesuits schools, parishes, social centers, and the communities they accompany are in need of urgent aid following the most destructive earthquake disaster in more than a century.

At 6:04 p.m. local time on June 24, a powerful 7.2 magnitude foreshock struck north-central Venezuela, followed less than a minute later by a 7.5 magnitude earthquake.

In Solidarity with our Partners

On this Feast of St. Ignatius, give to Jesuit solidarity abroad.

Every Dollar Makes a Difference

Solidarity is not something we practice only in moments of crisis. It is the thread that runs through everything we support: girls’ education and violence prevention in Nicaragua, relief and recovery in Venezuela, livelihood support in Cuba, and so many more places where our Jesuit partners walk alongside those on the margins. This is what your gift makes possible: not a moment of relief, but a lasting commitment.

The Impact on Fe y Alegría

In the affected region, Fe y Alegría Venezuela operates 39 schools serving more than 21,200 children and young people through formal and non-formal education, school meal programs, and other essential services. This network is supported by more than 3,000 staff members, including approximately 1,000 teachers.

While evaluations of the schools are still underway, it is clear the need will be great. From sustaining our partners in their immediate moment of need to helping them rebuild and continue their essential work, the Jesuits are on the ground now and will remain in these communities long after this crisis subsides.
