Lent 2026

Walking More Closely With Those On The Margins

During these 40 days of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving as we prepare for the passion and resurrection of Christ, we invite you to reflect on a simple question: How is God calling me to walk more closely with others?

"Your generosity becomes more than charity; it becomes companionship."

Fr. Robenson Siquitte, S.J.

As we journey through Lent and prepare for the passion and resurrection of Christ, we are invited to reflect on how God calls us to walk more closely with others.

In the communities served by Jesuit programs around the world, this call takes concrete form in the lives of women and girls who seek dignity, education, and opportunity. Their stories remind us that when people are given access to education and accompaniment, hope begins to take root—not only in individual lives but in entire communities.

This Lent, you can help ensure that women and girls have the opportunity to learn, grow, and lead.

By supporting American Jesuits International, you make possible educational programs that accompany women and girls as they build brighter futures for themselves and their communities. Together, we can answer Christ’s call to care for “the least of these” by ensuring that education remains a path toward dignity, justice, and opportunity for all.

Education Transforms Lives

  • Every Dollar Counts

Your Lenten gift helps sustain Jesuit initiatives that promote education, empowerment, and community leadership around the world.
  • Education is one of the most powerful tools for transformation. When women and girls gain access to learning opportunities, they gain the ability to shape their futures and strengthen their communities.

In Paraguay, educators like Bernarda travel long distances each week to reach Indigenous communities where adults—many over 50 years old—are learning to write their names for the first time. In El Salvador and other communities served by Jesuit programs, girls are gaining access to education that opens doors to leadership, independence, and opportunity.

These stories remind us that real change takes time. Jesuit programs are rooted deeply in the communities they serve, walking alongside students and families for generations.

Your gift this Lent is more than a donation—it is a commitment to walk with these communities on a long journey toward hope, dignity, and justice. When you give, you help ensure that Jesuit programs can continue accompanying women and girls today, tomorrow, and for generations to come.
