As we journey through Lent and prepare for the passion and resurrection of Christ, we are invited to reflect on how God calls us to walk more closely with others.
In the communities served by Jesuit programs around the world, this call takes concrete form in the lives of women and girls who seek dignity, education, and opportunity. Their stories remind us that when people are given access to education and accompaniment, hope begins to take root—not only in individual lives but in entire communities.

In Paraguay, educators like Bernarda travel long distances each week to reach Indigenous communities where adults—many over 50 years old—are learning to write their names for the first time. In El Salvador and other communities served by Jesuit programs, girls are gaining access to education that opens doors to leadership, independence, and opportunity.
These stories remind us that real change takes time. Jesuit programs are rooted deeply in the communities they serve, walking alongside students and families for generations.
